23 October 2003: View from Front Two dogwoods are planted on either side of the driveway, new grass on embankments. We're all set!
*15 October 2003: Great Room* Lots of sprucing for Honest Abe's Fall Open House: flowers and picture frames and balsam fir candles!
3 October 2003: View near Well Grass is growing, driveway is painted, and exterior light installed. Log home did well during Hurricane Isabel!
*12 September 2003: Great Room* Some furniture delivered today
*28 August 2003: View from Road* Driveway paved today! Grass is taking root as well
*13 August 2003: Master Bath* Waiting on signs and paving, but some general sprucing up of the interior is happening: mirrors, curtains, towels, and an orchid!
*4 August 2003: Great Room* We passed our certificate of occupancy! But you don't get it right away.... Security system and central vacuum have been installed, lots of cleaning!
*1 August 2003: View from Front* Some trees removed from front as well as the hill, seeding today
*30 July 2003: View from Front* The front hill is graded down and backfilling along foundation is starting, all this in our light rains!
*24 July 2003: Kitchen* Our first furniture delivered: an oak rolltop desk to match our kitchen cabinets and steel & black stools to match our Kenmore Elite appliances
*21 July 2003: Loft* All the trimmings are finished: sealed wood, stair rails, special order switchplates. Now for a lot of dusting and some work on the land.
*17 July 2003: Master Suite* Unfinished pine flooring is now sanded and sealed, and so are all thresholds and vents
*16 July 2003: Great Room* The unfinished pine stairs and master bedroom floor get their first coat, will be finished tomorrow!
*14 July 2003: View from Front* Copper installed on sides of chimney, sealing of unfinished pine floors is being worked on, exterior rails are in. Waiting on paving and grading
*11 July 2003: View from Billboard* Parking lot is being prepared: graded and gravel laid
*10 July 2003: Great Room* An all day photo shoot for Shades of Light and Rugs Under Foot catalogs, very interesting! Photos
*9 July 2003: Front Porch* Quite a day! Railing are installed (working on touch ups), last minute work on cabinets and masonry, and the parking lot is graded!! Shades of Light sets up for tomorrow's photo shoot.
*7 July 2003: Loft* Carpet for the loft, as well as the railings, was installed today! Some work on porch railings was done as well. Lots of trim was finished and accessories for the bathrooms were purchased.
*6 July 2003: Great Room* Gas logs installed today
*5 July 2003: Kitchen* Cypress floors are in, as well as all the appliances and most switchplates
*3 July 2003: Hall Bath* Plumbers have installed sinks, most of the electrical work is done too. Flooring continues, along with trim. It continues to rain, so the driveway is still on hold...
*2 July 2003: Great Room* Australian Cypress floors, as well as sinks, are installed
*1 July 2003: Kitchen* Backsplash is up! Phone company in today, more rain in the forecast, delaying driveway
*30 June 2003: Kitchen* Oak trim around window and porcelain, backsplash goes up
*29 June 2003: Master Bath* Wrought iron sconces and pendant are installed in the master bath
28 June 2003: White Room Another bedroom is done in a light stain, pickeled white, walnut floor is installed, and faux sky light is installed
*27 June 2003: Master Bath* Sink top goes in and tile around tub
*26 June 2003: Cinnamon Room* One bedroom is done in one of the darker stains, light is installed and so is the hickory floor! (couldn't get the floor AND the light in the same photo...)
*25 June 2003: Loft* Lots of lighting goes up, iron in the great room and loft, lots of different lights in the other rooms, as well as more stainless steel appliances in the kitchen
24 June 2003: Loft Vents are installed (black with the help of Rustoleum) and we have air conditioning!
23 June 2003: Kitchen Appliances are delivered, stainless steel (blue protective film is still on); and island is moved slightly
*19 June 2003: Master Bath* Maple cabinets go in, grout is done on most of tile (waiting for a dry spell AGAIN so the driveway can go in)
*18 June 2003: Kitchen* Porcelain tile is cut and installed
*17 June 2003: Master Suite* Lighting goes up, hardwood floors are waiting to be installed
*16 June 2003: Kitchen* Base for porcelain counter tops go down, electrician starts to put up lights
*13 June 2003: Kitchen* Oak kitchen cabinets go up in only a couple hours
*12 June 2003: View from Front* Exterior stain goes up, between thunderstorms!
7 June 2003: Master Bath Tile work near completion in bathrooms
29 May 2003: View from Front Stone work is finished, ramp is nearly done
*21 May 2003: Back Porch* Stairs are on back porch, work started on driveway, lots of rainy weather
19 May 2003: Master Bath Some tile on floor and walls

*11 May 2003: Kitchen* Tile work has started
*9 May 2003: Master Suite* Wood flooring is in the master bedroom and tile is started in the bath
*8 May 2003: Kitchen* The island is delivered and doors are hung, hard wood floors are started in master bedroom
*7 May 2003: Great Room* Heavy Timber stairs installed, different view of chimney and some cedar trim
*2 May 2003: Great Room* More cedar trim and shelves, more stone work on chimney
30 April 2003: View from Front Stone all around and now going up chimney
28 April 2003: View up Stairs More cedar has been cut to trim the house
*25 April 2003: Great Room* New look to the wall behind stairs, and cedar is being finished for trim
*23 April 2003: View from Back* "Grand Central" at the cabin today: stone work, phone lines, gas lines, and of course general construction
*22 April 2003: Great Room* Sheetrock going up on some walls
21 April 2003: View from Front Stone work going on foundation

*14 April 2003: Back Porch* Closer view of porch railings, windows, and doors, insulation inspection passed today
11 April 2003: Master Suite Installation of tongue and groove on some interior walls and ceilings

*7 April 2003: Master Bedroom* Insulation installed in ceilings (stone samples for chimney on floor)

23 December 2002: View from Well Foundation is backfilled, ready for subfloor
16 December 2002: View from Well Dry AND Warm! The foundation is laid and pest control applied.
25 November 2002: View from Front Finally a dry spell! Footers are dug and poured.
4 November 2002: View from Road The logs have arrived and been unloaded by forklift.
*24 October 2002: View from Well* The site is cleared and awaiting a dry spell for the foundation.
